Marine Air Compressor: The Heart of a Ship’s Starting Air System

Every marine diesel engine relies on a dependable marine air compressor to provide high-pressure compressed air for safe and reliable operation. A two-stage compressor improves efficiency by compressing air in two steps with intercooling, delivering clean, dry air for critical shipboard systems.

How it works:

  1. Air enters through the intake filter.
  2. Low-pressure (LP) cylinder performs the first compression.
  3. Intercooler reduces air temperature.
  4. High-pressure (HP) cylinder compresses the air further.
  5. Aftercooler cools the compressed air.
  6. Moisture separator removes water and oil.
  7. Air receiver stores compressed air.
  8. Clean high-pressure air is supplied for ship operations.
