Inspectors now assess HARDWARE + PROCESS + HUMAN — not just whether equipment works or paperwork is complete.
A perfect checklist won’t save you if the crew cannot explain or demonstrate the task correctly.
And every tanker does not receive exactly the same questions. The CVIQ is vessel-specific, using Core, Rotational, Conditional and Campaign questions.
The real lesson?
Don’t prepare an “inspection-day ship.” Build a ship that operates at inspection standard every day.
